The Poetry of George Albert Leddy

Featuring Tales of the Rugged Trails
Illustrations by Jason W. Clark

Published for the first time, this compilation of poetry by Vermonter George Albert Leddy (1883-1967) represents a “significant find” in the genre popularized by Robert Service—author of “The Cremation of Sam McGee.”

The poems/ballads are mostly detailed stories— ingeniously crafted in perfect rhyme—meant to be memorized and recited from the heart. Some take 15 minutes to perform! Fortunately, this oral tradition is being carried on by his grandson, Chris Abair, who performs as a storyteller around New England and Upstate New York.
